Where Eagles Dare (1968)

UK Quad Movie Poster

£500.00

‘Broadsword Calling Danny Boy’

The pairing of two Hollywood giants in this Alistair MacLean epic makes for one of the most thrilling movies of all time. In the nearly sixty years since its first release it has lost none of its energy thanks to its massive body count, instantly recognisable film score and legendary cable car sequence. It is also Steven Spielbergs favourite war film.

This is an original quad movie poster for WHERE EAGLES DARE  (1968) starring Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood, Patrick Wymark and Mary Ure. Directed by Brian G. Hutton and written by Alistair MacLean.

Howard Terpning’s poster artwork is the quintessential action movie poster with its adrenaline fuelled stunts and explosions foregrounded by the two leading actors. It is a pictorial formula that is repeated again and again in action movie posters, but has never been equalled.

The poster is folded and measures 30 x 40 inches. It is in VERY GOOD condition.

Please examine the picture gallery to make your own assessment of the condition of this item. The photographs used in this listing are of the exact item which is for sale.

What is a ‘quad’ movie poster? A ‘quad’ is the standard UK cinema poster measuring 30×40 inches in a landscape format. This is the most widely distributed cinema poster format in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Most quads were folded before being distributed to cinemas until the 1990s.
