Violent Playground (1958)

Controversial for its frank depiction of juvenile delinquency and negative portrayal of Rock n Roll, this is a landmark British film from the 1950s. Often cited as Britains answer to American productions such as Rebel Without a Cause and Blackboard Jungle, Violent Playground is a powerful portrayal of the post-war generation gap and rise of violent teenage subcultures.

What is a ‘quad’ poster? A ‘quad’ is the standard UK cinema poster measuring 30×40 inches in a landscape format. This is the most widely distributed cinema poster format in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Most quads were folded before being distributed to cinemas until the 1990s.
